I picked this up to patch a dead spot in the house and was genuinely impressed by the value. The setup is incredibly simple because you don’t need to install any proprietary software or apps on your phone, you just connect through a browser and you are good to go. On my fibre connection I managed to pull down 250Mbps which is a very solid speed for a Wi-Fi 5 repeater. The ping times kept low enough that I could use it for online gaming and Xbox Game Streaming without feeling like I was sliding around on ice.It also functions as an access point if you need that extra stability, but there is one hardware quirk you need to be aware of. The Ethernet jack on the unit is only a 100Mbps port. This means if you hardwire it to your network, you are physically capping your speed and won’t get the full potential of the wireless radio. It is a bit of a strange bottleneck for a modern device, but as long as you stick to using it as a wireless repeater, it performs perfectly.
